Colby Robertson has spent his working life
at the border of music
and the machinery that moves it.

Getting started self-taught on daws &
producing, he ended up spending his late teens
and early 20’s touring with & artists bands around the country, paying close attention how things work from those who were there first.

Eventually he landed behind the mixing desk,
producing and engineering records.

He worked at a studio, bought it out with
partners,
and turned it into Interim Studios
a thriving multi-tenant operation through the years when everyone said studios were finished.

After taking an operations & strategy role for the ABC’s music networks,
he learned how ideas survive large organisations
and applied strategy to opportunity when he successfully
pitched & implemented a weekly radio show
Perfect Sundays on triple j where he’s taklked with
over 50 artists about songs they consider perfect.

The point is
that he’s fluent
in both sides
of the conversation;
the artist in the studio,
and the executive in the elevator.
He knows how to be the translator,
where the leverage is,
who to put on things,
and the frameworks to apply
to sell your idea
in a world where the metrics
have stopped meaning what they used to.
